Istanbul Technical University (ITU), founded in 1773, is one of the most prestigious technical universities in Turkey. With its strong academic staff in engineering and fundamental sciences, international collaborations, and extensive research facilities, ITU offers its students a comprehensive education that combines both theory and practice. Ranked among the leading technical universities in the world, ITU has a significant global impact through the engineers and scientists it has educated.

The ITU Physics Engineering Club (FMK), established in the 2007–2008 academic year, is an active student organization that contributes to both the academic and social development of its members. In the past, the club has organized technical trips to CERN and TÜBİTAK, and every year it hosts seminars with experts from various fields. FMK is also the organizer of the Science and Engineering Summit (SES), one of the largest student-led scientific events in Turkey.
